153rd Infantry, State Color. Composed entirely of men from Northampton County, and 153rd was mustered into service in early October 1862 for nine-months of service. The regiment received the state color sometime in October 1862, but the flag was immediately sent to Washington for some "necessary work" and was never carried by the regiment. The 153rd was mustered out of service on July 24, 1863.

153rd Infantry, National Color. Composed entirely of men from Northampton County, and 153rd was mustered into service in early October 1862 for nine-months of service. Sergeant John Henning of Company I was the flag's only bearer throughout the regiment's term of service. The 153rd received the national color early in the regiment's existence. The regiment was mustered out of service on July 24, 1863.
